Można odpowiedzieć jeszcze inaczej. Załóżmy, że jakiś uczony wypowiedział się na temat związany z jego wiedzą. Usłyszał to jakiś prostak i powiedział: To nie jest tak, jak on mówi, bo ja tego nie rozumiem. Czy nie będziemy mieli racji, nazywając takiego człowieka głupcem?
Po trzecie… Gdyby człowiek chciał wierzyć w tylko to, co sam pozna, życie na tym świecie byłoby nieznośne. Bo jak można żyć nie wierząc innym? Chociażby w to, że ten właśnie człowiek jest moim ojcem…
Bóg daje dowody, że to czego uczy wiara, jest prawdziwe… Chrystus potwierdził (cudami) nauczanie Apostołów i świętych.
Ale powiesz, że my teraz cudów nie oglądamy…
… przecież teraz ogromna masa ludzi wierzy w Chrystusa. I to nieraz ludzi mądrych, szlachetnych, mających wielkie znaczenie. A stało się to na skutek działalności apostolskiej prostych i ubogich kaznodziejów. Jeśli to się stało w sposób cudowny, masz odpowiedź na pytanie. Jeśli nie – to nawrócenie się świata bez cudu, jest chyba jeszcze większym cudem…
Wypływa stąd wniosek, że nie powinniśmy wątpić w sensowność wiary…”

„Ludzie dobrzy mają znosić złych w tym znaczeniu, że winni cierpliwie znieść doznane od nich osobiste krzywdy, ale w miarę jak to jest godziwe. Mówi przecież Hieronim: „Trzeba odciąć zgangrenowane członki i usunąć z trzody parszywą owcę, aby cały dom nie spłonął, nie popsuła się cała masa, nie zaraziło się całe stado, nie zginęła cała trzoda.””

But man is yet further ordered to a still nobler vital action, and that is intellectual operation. Therefore there was greater reason for the distinction of these two forces in man; so that the female should be produced separately from the male; although they are carnally united for generation. Therefore directly after the formation of woman, it was said: "And they shall be two in one flesh"”
