Ennek a súlya pedig kisebbedik, ha egymagában körülhatárolod, és ha értelmednek szemrehányást teszel, hogy még arra sem képes, hogy a jelent önmagában elviselje.”

„A nap mintha szétömlene, s bár mindenüvé jut belőle, mégsem apad ki. Ez onnan van, hogy szétömlése tulajdonképpen kisugárzás. Ettől a kisugárzástól kapta a "napsugár" is a nevét. Hogy milyen a napsugár, azt megláthatod, ha megfigyeled a sötét helyiségbe valami résen át behatoló napfényt: egyenes sugárban terjed, mintegy nekifeszül az útjában álló szilárd tárgynak, amely elzárja előle a mögötte levő űrt. - Ott megáll, el sem csúszik, le sem esik. Ugyanígy kell értelmednek áradni és szétömleni: de nem kiapadni, hanem folyton sugárzani - a szembenálló akadályokra nem erőszakosan vagy szenvedélyesen ráfeszülni, nem esni le, hanem ott maradni, és azt, ami a fénye számára hozzáférhető, megvilágítani. Ami pedig visszautasítja, az maga magát fosztja meg a fénytől.”
