Francis Scott Key Fitzgerald az irodalomtörténet szerint a 20. század egyik legjelesebb modernista regény- és novellaírója volt. Az első világháború utáni évek generációjához, az ún. elveszett nemzedékhez tartozott . Fitzgerald az 1920-30-as éveket a dzsessz korszakának nevezte.

Regényei közül leghíresebb A nagy Gatsby , melynek 1926 óta hat filmfeldolgozása is készült, a legújabb 2013-ban kerül a mozikba, Leonardo DiCaprio főszereplésével. Wikipedia
