Francis Hutcheson – irlandzki filozof okresu oświecenia, związany głównie z oświeceniem szkockim, wczesny myśliciel utylitaryzmu.
Hutcheson urodził się w rodzinie szkockiej, studiował na uniwersytecie w Glasgow, a w 1716 otrzymał prawo do odprawiania nabożeństw w obrządku prezbiteriańskim. Irlandzkie pochodzenie przekreśliło jego szanse na zawodowe nauczanie religii na terenie Szkocji, wrócił więc do Irlandii i nauczał w Dublin Academy.
