“REMEMBER OLD TIM QUILL

In the moneylenders’ offices
The clocks are standing still
As leading the workers here in Cork
Is our old man Tim Quill

Known for his eloquent oration
When he heads the Cork Trades Council
He devises every selfless action
For the welfare of the nation

In ’22 democracy
Was promised to us all
Yet if it wasn’t for the Co-op
That dream it would just fall

Some say his Friesian herd
Is the most prolific of the lot
Yet the needs of the most desperate
Quill has not forgot

Under the present order
We’re left with debt and slums
Until then we follow Timothy Quill
And his marchers’ fine ol’ drums”

Dreams, Democracy

“Nothing is more irritating and hurtful than a person who makes promises and breaks them over and over again. It shows lack of consideration for the other's feelings and also means the person cannot be trusted or relied upon. Do not make promises you feel you may not be able to keep, because besides being irritating, it also ruins character.”

Stephie Pahlavi Zan

“You must teach me a small part of what you know," said Dantes, "if only to prevent your growing weary of me. I can well believe] that so learned a person as yourself would prefer absolute [[solitude to being tormented with the company of one as ignorant and uninformed as myself. If you will only agree to my request, I promise you never to mention another word about escaping.”

“As a mother, I've always thought of September as a special month, a time when we bundled our children off to school, to the warmth of an environment in which they could fulfill the promise and hope in those restless minds.”

“If we see a romantic partnership as the only relationship that promises to meet our needs, we will put all the pressure on that other person to be the one to meet all of our needs, which is impossible. No one person can meet all of our needs. So, it is a set up for disappointment and for pain.”

Teal Swan (1984) American spiritual teacher

Pain, Disappointment, Personality, Partnership

“If we see a romantic partnership as the only relationship that promises to meet our needs, the only one that will make us happy, the only one in which we can feel secure and establish a sense of guarantee, we will fail to recognize and we will devalue all of the other forms of relationships around us; as well as the plentitude of resources that each one offers us.”

Teal Swan (1984) American spiritual teacher

“Some weeks ago my boyfriend broke up with me due to some issues.

I did everything to get him back but nothing worked.

I contacted a relationship doctor i saw online.

I told the relationship doctor everything that happened,

He promised to fix my relationship.

My relationship was restored just as promised,

My Ex-boyfriend is back and promised never to leave me again

I am the happiest lady on earth,

Never too late to fix your broken heart.

You can still get your lover back…

Fix broken relationship/marriage…

Thanks a lot🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹

“The biggest obstacle for rulers is upholding the commitments they have been entrusted with since they came to power. How easy it is for rulers to forget what they have said and how easy it is for them to break the promises they are supposed to keep.”

Titon Rahmawan

Forgetting

“Your results are testaments of your actions, not your promises.”

Isaac Mashman (2000) businessman, speaker

“I know that our efforts all come to nothing. Analyze life, tear its trappings off, lay it bare with thought, with logic, with philosophy, and its emptiness is revealed as a bottomless pit; its nothingness frankly confesses to nothingness, and Despair comes to perch in the soulI know the end of us all is nothing, I know that at the end of Time, the reward of our toil will be nothing — and again nothing. I know that all our handiwork and all our ideas will be destroyed. I know that not even ash will be left from the fires that consume us. I know that our ideals, even those we achieve, will vanish in the eternal darkness of oblivion and final non-being. There is no hope, none, in my heart. I know, No promise, none, can I make to myself and to others. No recompense can I expect for my labors. No fruit will be born of my thoughts. I know the time — eternal seducer of all men, eternal cause of all effects — offers me nothing but the blank prospect of annihilation. So, my dignity is broken and weak, in recognition of my impending defeat.

The man who is alone, who stands on his own feet, who is stripped bare, who asks for nothing and wants nothing, who has reached the apex of disinterestedness not through blind renunciation but through excess of clear vision, turns to the world which stretches out before him as a burned prairie, as a devastated city — a world in which no churches, asylums, refuges, ideals, are left — and says: «Though you promise me nothing I am still with you, I am still an atom of your energies, my work is part of your work; I am your companion and your mirror as you march on your merciless way. But I owe nothing to any one. I would be responsible to freedom alone.”
