Charles James Fox citations

Charles James Fox, né à Londres le 24 janvier 1749 et mort à Chiswick le 13 septembre 1806, est un homme d'État britannique et l'une des principales figures politiques du Parti whig dont la carrière parlementaire s'étale de la fin du XVIIIe siècle au début du XIXe siècle. L'un des plus grands orateurs d'Angleterre, il est surtout connu pour la rivalité qui l'opposa à William Pitt le Jeune.

Connu pour son engagement anti-esclavagiste, ce fut un partisan de la guerre d'indépendance des États-Unis, et de la Révolution française. Il occupa divers cabinets ministériels d'importance et fut à ce titre premier Secrétaire d'État aux Affaires étrangères. Wikipedia
