George H. Burgess Quotes

George H. Burgess is an ichthyologist and fisheries biologist with the Florida Museum of Natural History, University of Florida. He is the former director of the International Shark Attack File and author/coauthor of numerous books and papers on sharks and other fish.

George Burgess also appeared on Discovery Channel's Top Ten Sharks of All Time.

George Burgess retired in 2017; the Florida Museum of Natural History said the following: "Throughout his more than 40-year career at the University of Florida, George Burgess gained an international reputation with the media and public as a reliable source and shark attack expert who always stressed the importance of shark conservation. And while he officially retired in 2017, Burgess is crystal clear on one point: He’s not done working and plans to stay engaged."
