Ann Coulter

Birthdate: 8. December 1961
Other names: 앤 콜터, 安·寇特, ان کولتر

Ann Hart Coulter is an American conservative social and political commentator, writer, syndicated columnist, and lawyer. She frequently appears on television, radio, and as a speaker at public and private events.

Born in New York City to a conservative family, Coulter was raised in New Canaan, Connecticut. She deepened her conservative interests while studying history at Cornell University, where she helped found The Cornell Review. She subsequently embarked on a career as a law clerk before rising to prominence in the 1990s as an outspoken critic of the Clinton administration. Her first book concerned the Bill Clinton impeachment, and sprang from her experience writing legal briefs for Paula Jones's attorneys, as well as columns she wrote about the cases.

Coulter has described herself as a polemicist who likes to "stir up the pot," and does not "pretend to be impartial or balanced, as broadcasters do," drawing criticism from the left, and sometimes from the right. Coulter's syndicated column for Universal Press Syndicate appears in newspapers, and is featured on major conservative websites. As of 2016, Coulter has 12 best-selling books, including most recently Adios, America! and In Trump We Trust.

Works

„I wouldn't kill an abortionist myself, but I wouldn't want to impose my moral values on others.“

—  Ann Coulter

"49 Million to Five" (3 June 2009).
2009
Context: I wouldn't kill an abortionist myself, but I wouldn't want to impose my moral values on others. No one is for shooting abortionists. But how will criminalizing men making difficult, often tragic, decisions be an effective means of achieving the goal of reducing the shootings of abortionists?

„I don't know why all gays aren't Republican.“

—  Ann Coulter

"Coulter under fire for anti-gay slur" at CNN (4 March 2007) http://www.cnn.com/2007/POLITICS/03/04/coulter.edwards/index.html.
2007
Context: I don't know why all gays aren't Republican. I think we have the pro-gay positions, which is anti-crime and for tax cuts. Gays make a lot of money and they're victims of crime. No, they are! They should be with us.

„The ethic of conservation is the explicit abnegation of man's dominion over the Earth.“

—  Ann Coulter

2000
Context: The ethic of conservation is the explicit abnegation of man's dominion over the Earth. The lower species are here for our use. God said so: Go forth, be fruitful, multiply, and rape the planet — it's yours. That's our job: drilling, mining and stripping. Sweaters are the anti-Biblical view. Big gas-guzzling cars with phones and CD players and wet bars — that's the Biblical view.

„Apparently, even crazy people prefer targets that can't shoot back.“

—  Ann Coulter

"Let's Make America a 'Sad-Free Zone'!" (18 April 2007).
2007
Context: Apparently, even crazy people prefer targets that can't shoot back. The reason schools are consistently popular targets for mass murderers is precisely because of all the idiotic "Gun-Free School Zone" laws.
From the people who brought you "zero tolerance," I present the Gun-Free Zone! Yippee! Problem solved! Bam! Bam! Everybody down! Hey, how did that deranged loner get a gun into this Gun-Free Zone?

„I think she would be stronger on the war on terrorism. I absolutely believe that. … I will campaign for her if it's McCain.“

—  Ann Coulter

To Sean Hannity on the possibility of on John McCain being the 2008 Republican Party nominee for President, on Hannity & Colmes (31 January 2008) http://youtube.com/watch?v=HuTqgqhxVMc.
2008
Context: If you're looking at substance rather than whether it's an R or D after his name, manifestly, if he's our candidate, then Hillary's gonna be our girl, Sean, because she's more conservative than he is. I think she would be stronger on the war on terrorism. I absolutely believe that. … I will campaign for her if it's McCain.

„We should be fingerprinting environmentalists“

—  Ann Coulter

2002
Context: We should be fingerprinting environmentalists … As for what can be done to convince Americans that we face an enemy that hates America as much as the terrorists, we should put people like Ann Coulter on TV more, stop with the infernal nonsense of thinking liberals are decent but misguided people, and characterize the threat appropriately. … Start by telling the truth about them: They are out to destroy the country.

„She ought to be in prison for wearing a hijab.“

—  Ann Coulter

2013
Context: I don’t care if she knew about this. She ought to be in prison for wearing a hijab.

„I think the government should be spying on all Arabs, engaging in torture as a televised spectator sport, dropping daisy cutters wantonly throughout the Middle East and sending liberals to Guantanamo.“

—  Ann Coulter

2005
Context: I think the government should be spying on all Arabs, engaging in torture as a televised spectator sport, dropping daisy cutters wantonly throughout the Middle East and sending liberals to Guantanamo.
But if we must engage in a national debate on half-measures: After 9-11, any president who was not spying on people calling phone numbers associated with terrorists should be impeached for being an inept commander in chief.
With a huge gaping hole in lower Manhattan, I'm not sure why we have to keep reminding people, but we are at war. (Perhaps it's because of the media blackout on images of the 9-11 attack. We're not allowed to see those because seeing planes plowing into the World Trade Center and the Pentagon might make us feel angry and jingoistic.)
Among the things that war entails are: killing people (sometimes innocent), destroying buildings (sometimes innocent) and spying on people (sometimes innocent).
That is why war is a bad thing. But once a war starts, it is going to be finished one way or another, and I have a preference for it coming out one way rather than the other.

„Not all Muslims may be terrorists, but all terrorists are Muslims — at least all terrorists capable of assembling a murderous plot against America that leaves 7,000 people dead in under two hours.“

—  Ann Coulter

"Future widows of America: Write your congressman" in Jewish World Review (28 September 2001).
2001
Context: Not all Muslims may be terrorists, but all terrorists are Muslims — at least all terrorists capable of assembling a murderous plot against America that leaves 7,000 people dead in under two hours.
How are we to distinguish the peaceful Muslims from the fanatical, homicidal Muslims about to murder thousands of our fellow citizens?

„If Chicago had been hit, I assure you New Yorkers would not have cared.“

—  Ann Coulter

On the September 11 attacks, as quoted in "An appalling magic" in The Guardian (17 May 2003).
2003
Context: If Chicago had been hit, I assure you New Yorkers would not have cared. What was stunning when New York was hit was how the rest of America rushed to New York's defense. New Yorkers would have been like, "It's tough for them; now let's go back to our Calvin Klein fashion shows."

„They have no interest in — or aptitude for — persuasion. Their goal is to anathematize their enemies.“

—  Ann Coulter

"McCarthyism: The Rosetta Stone of Liberal Lies" (8 November 2007) http://townhall.com/columnists/anncoulter/2007/11/08/mccarthyism_the_rosetta_stone_of_liberal_lies/page/full/.
2007
Context: Ironically, for all of their love of conspiracy theories — the rigging of the 2000 election, vote suppression in Ohio in 2004, 9/11 being an inside job, oil companies covering up miracle technology that would allow cars to run on dirt, Britney Spears' career, etc., etc. — when presented with an actual conspiracy of Soviet spies infiltrating the U. S. government, they laughed it off like world-weary skeptics and dedicated themselves to slandering Joe McCarthy.
Then as now, liberals protect themselves from detection with wild calumnies against anybody who opposes them. They have no interest in — or aptitude for — persuasion. Their goal is to anathematize their enemies.

„God said so: Go forth, be fruitful, multiply, and rape the planet — it's yours.“

„These people can't even wrap up genocide. We've been hearing about this slaughter in Darfur forever — and they still haven't finished.“

—  Ann Coulter

"If At First You Don't Appease — Cry, Cry Again" (4 April 2007) http://www.anncoulter.com/cgi-local/printer_friendly.cgi?article=177.
2007
Context: These people can't even wrap up genocide. We've been hearing about this slaughter in Darfur forever — and they still haven't finished. The aggressors are moving like termites across that country. It's like genocide by committee. Who's running this holocaust in Darfur, FEMA? This is truly a war in which we have absolutely no interest. But liberals want our boys to go fight scimitar-wielding dervishes.

„As governor of California, Reagan gave student protesters at Berkeley the finger.“

—  Ann Coulter

"Ho Ho Ho, Merry Imus!" (11 April 2007) http://www.anncoulter.com/cgi-local/article.cgi?article=178.
2007
Context: One more item for the delusional Miss Grundys still obtusely citing Reagan as their model of "niceness": As governor of California, Reagan gave student protesters at Berkeley the finger. Remember that next time you ask yourself: "What would Reagan do?"
People who are afraid of ideas whitewash Reagan like they whitewash Jesus. Sorry to break it to you, but the Reagan era did not consist of eight years of Reagan joking about his naps.

„God said, "Earth is yours. Take it. Rape it. It's yours."“

—  Ann Coulter

Making references to Dominionism and Genesis 1:28 http://www.mechon-mamre.org/p/pt/pt0101.htm#28, on Hannity & Colmes (20 June 2001).
2001
Context: God gave us the earth. We have dominion over the plants, the animals, the trees. God said, "Earth is yours. Take it. Rape it. It's yours."

„In the history of the nation, there has never been a political party so ridiculous as today's Democrats.“

—  Ann Coulter

2006
Context: In the history of the nation, there has never been a political party so ridiculous as today's Democrats. It's as if all the brain-damaged people in America got together and formed a voting bloc.

„They revere the U.N. and not the U.S. because they aren't Americans — they are gods.“

—  Ann Coulter

2003, Treason : Liberal Treachery from the Cold War to the War on Terrorism (2003)
Context: Conservatives believe man was created in God's image, while liberals believe they are gods. All of the behavioral tics of the liberals proceed from their godless belief that they can murder the unborn because they, the liberals, are themselves gods. They try to forcibly create "equality" through affirmative action and wealth redistribution because they are gods. They flat-out lie, with no higher power to constrain them, because they are gods. They adore pornography and the mechanization of sex because man is just an animal, and they are gods. They revere the U. N. and not the U. S. because they aren't Americans — they are gods.

„Muslims are the only people who make feminists seem laid-back.“

—  Ann Coulter

Regarding Jyllands-Posten Muhammad cartoons controversy, in
2006
Context: Three cartoons made political points.
One showed Muhammad turning away suicide bombers from the gates of heaven, saying "Stop, stop — we ran out of virgins!" — which I believe was a commentary on Muslims' predilection for violence. Another was a cartoon of Muhammad with horns, which I believe was a commentary on Muslims' predilection for violence. The third showed Muhammad with a turban in the shape of a bomb, which I believe was an expression of post-industrial ennui in a secular — oops, no, wait: It was more of a commentary on Muslims' predilection for violence.
In order to express their displeasure with the idea that Muslims are violent, thousands of Muslims around the world engaged in rioting, arson, mob savagery, flag-burning, murder and mayhem, among other peaceful acts of nonviolence.
Muslims are the only people who make feminists seem laid-back.

„I mean, this is lesson, you know, number 1,000,047 on why women shouldn't be in the military. In addition to not being able to carry even a medium-sized backpack, women are too vicious.“

—  Ann Coulter

Hannity & Colmes (5 May 2004).
2004
Context: I think the other point that no one is making about the abuse photos is just the disproportionate number of women involved, including a girl general running the entire operation. I mean, this is lesson, you know, number 1,000,047 on why women shouldn't be in the military. In addition to not being able to carry even a medium-sized backpack, women are too vicious.
