Jim Butcher uznawany jest przez „New York Times” za jednego najlepiej sprzedających się pisarzy fantasy w Stanach Zjednoczonych. Swoją popularność zdobył dwoma cyklami fantasy: Akta Harry’ego Dresdena oraz Codex Alera.
