Henry John Temple, 3. wicehrabia Palmerston KG – angielski polityk i arystokrata, premier oraz wielokrotny minister.

Od 1807 r. członek Izby Gmin, do roku 1828 członek partii torysów, następnie wigów. Od 1809 r. wielokrotnie minister . Premier w latach 1855–1858 oraz 1859–1865.

Przeciwny rozszerzaniu prawa wyborczego na robotników. Rzecznik równowagi w Europie , sprzyjał tym europejskim ruchom narodowym i liberalnym, które umacniały pozycję Anglii na kontynencie . W roku 1854 doprowadził do udziału Anglii w wojnie krymskiej, a następnie zawarcia korzystnego pokoju z Rosją w 1856 r. Realizator zaborczej polityki brytyjskiej w Indiach i w stosunku do Chin .

Jest autorem często cytowanego zdania: „Wielka Brytania nie ma wiecznych sojuszników, ani wiecznych wrogów; wieczne są tylko interesy Wielkiej Brytanii i obowiązek ich ochrony”. Wikipedia
