Vermes Géza magyar zsidó származású brit tudós, a vallástörténelmen belül különösen a zsidó-keresztény szakterület kutatója. A Holt-tengeri tekercsek elismert szakértője. A Jézus-kutatás egyik legfőbb szószólója, akit korának legnagyobb Jézus-tudósának tartanak.
