“Critique of art is not only useless, it is damaging. Art is an expression of self. It is the soul played out upon this physical world. And so, you can no more critique art, than you can critique the human soul. That is why (beyond simple technique that may enable an artist to further express their perspective) I do not believe in art school, for art and school are a serious contradiction in terms.”Teal Swan
“Today, most parents make three crucial mistakes, 1. They disapprove of their children's emotions, 2. They dismiss their children's emotions and 3. They offer no guidance to a child with regards to their emotions.”Teal Swan
“There is a reason why I focus more in my carreer on practical things like relationships and what to do with emotions - it's because all of this interdimensional information that I could have a conversation about with you, DOES NOTHING FOR YOUR DAILY LIFE. Nothing. Really, it doesn't matter how many extraterrestrials there are in the universe and what they are doing in your day to day life… What matter's is whether you can have a relationship because life literally is relationships. Even if you want to have a conversation about the universe - it's about your relationship to the universe.”Teal Swan
“The healthy form of attraction is a warmth. The way you experience it in your body is instead of it being a tension and an inhale, it's like an exhale. If the positive attraction that you feel is that relaxation and relief in your body, that's the healthy sensation. The person you're supposed to be with in partnership feels more like home, not excitement.”Teal Swan
“A man that is fully in his masculine energy is not a threat to a woman; instead, he is her greatest advocate.”Teal Swan
“If not belonging is a consequence for certain actions, there was no belonging in the first place.”Teal Swan
“Regardless of whether it is a friendship or a romantic relationship, emotions and feelings are the heart of every healthy and meaningful relationship. Without a healthy emotional life, a relationship is not a relationship, it's a social arrangement.”Teal Swan
“A harmonious life is made possible by a harmonious union between your mind and your heart. Feelings cannot be controlled by the mind. And any attempt to do so is to perpetuate an abusive marriage between the mind and heart.”Teal Swan
“A cover emotion is an emotion that exists to keep you out of a lower vibrational feeling. For example, anger is a cover emotion for fear. The cover emotions are like ice over a lake that prevents you from falling into the deep water beneath. Numbness or lack of feeling is in fact a cover emotion for the emotion of despair.”Teal Swan
“Success is more about what you say NO to than what you say YES to. You can completely destroy your personal energy by saying yes to the wrong types of things.”Teal Swan
“Happy people do not cause harm to others. If everyone who was born upon this earth focused on their own alignment and their own joy so much that they never became separated from it, there would be no war.”Teal Swan
“One of the most painful things about this path is to recognize things about yourself that aren’t “as they should be”. And the reason you think things should be a certain way is because you’ve been taught that they should. Every spiritual tradition, just like greater society, comes complete with all kinds of values, expectations and beliefs. These all add up to one thing: A SHOULD STANDARD. This is how you should be. This is how you should feel. This is what you should think. This is the reality you should perceive. And the reality is, you will always fall short of that should standard.”Teal Swan
“The way I like to describe shadow work is like this - When we're first doing spiritual practice we're moving out of dark spaces into the light of consciousness. And then, our job is to take the light of consciousness back into the shadows and shine it there so that then they become the light of consciousness as well.”Teal Swan
“If we as people allow ourselves to be caught up in either PRIDE or SHAME, we severely limit the scope of what we are capable of doing and what we are capable of of becoming in this life.”Teal Swan
“Compassion is the single most critical thing for the human race to develop. And quite honestly, the survival of our own species depends on it. We are no longer in a place where we can wait for compassion to spontaneously occur. We now have to take steps to help it to arise.”Teal Swan
“Fear is not something to be ashamed of. We cannot condemn fear without simultaneously condemning the fact that we are alive. It is part of being alive. Fear is valuable. Take every opportunity where you feel fear, to step into the feeling of the fear, explore it. Bring awareness to it. And question it fully.”Teal Swan
“If you take responsibility for telling people the truth at the same time as taking responsibility for making people feel good, you will often find yourself stuck in a serious contradiction.”Teal Swan
