Meenakshi Jain is an Indian political scientist and historian. She is the author of the history textbook Medieval India. It was published by the National Council of Educational Research and Training during the NDA government as a replacement for a prior text by Romila Thapar. She has challenged the leftist approach to history. Her recent book, Rama and Ayodhya, sets out a Hindu perspective on the Ayodhya dispute.
