Hannah Glasse Quotes

Hannah Glasse was an English cookery writer of the 18th century. She is remembered mainly for her bestselling cookbook The Art of Cookery made Plain and Easy, first published in 1747. The book was reprinted within its first year of publication, appeared in 20 editions in the 18th century, and continued to be published until 1846.

Sometimes attributed to Glasse, but in fact the phrase appears nowhere in her Art of Cookery. The closest is under roast hare (page 6), "Take your hare when it be cas'd", simply meaning take a skinned hare.
