“Don’t get sick. And if you do get sick, die quickly.”
Grayson on health care reform http://listenonrepeat.com/watch/?v=-usmvYOPfco (2009).
2009
Context: Now, the Democrats have a different plan. The Democrats say that: “If you have health insurance, we’re going to make it better. If you don’t have health insurance, we going to provide it to you. If you can’t afford health insurance, then we’ll help you afford health insurance.” So America gets to decide. Do you want the Democratic plan, or do you want the Republican plan? Remember, the Republican plan: "Don’t get sick. And if you do get sick, die quickly."
“The country can't get well if the people are sick. And the people are sick.”
Larry King Live interview (2010)
Context: The country can't get well if the people are sick. And the people are sick. Now, I know Obama's not been the best president and the Democrats are not the best politicians, but you know what? We elected him just two years ago to fix this massive bunch of problems we have. And because he didn't do it by football season, we are ready to throw him out on the street and bring back the guys who messed it up just two years ago. That's a little too impatient. Yes, when he got the patient, the patient was bleeding to death — he got the patient to stop bleeding. But, OK, the patient is not up and back at the office quite yet. It's no reason to throw the doctor out and get back the doctor who was using leaches.
“I’ll be the first unknown that everyone’s going to be sick of”
As quoted in "Hollywood's hidden treasure: Jessica Chastain interview" by Sheryl Garratt, in The Daily Telegraph (24 September 2011) http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/film/starsandstories/8776020/Hollywoods-hidden-treasure-Jessica-Chastain-interview.html
Context: I’ll be the first unknown that everyone’s going to be sick of … People will say, “We have no idea what her name is, but she is everywhere!" … I did Salomé with Al Pacino, The Tree of Life with Terrence Malick, and all these films that were interesting and had great characters. But because they were so interesting, perhaps the directors had more control of them. They take their time, they’re not on a schedule.
