Sir Pelham Grenville Wodehouse brit író.

Wodehouse elismert mestere volt az angol prózának, tiszteletnek örvendett mind a kortársak körében, mint Hilaire Belloc, Evelyn Waugh és Rudyard Kipling, mind a modern írók körében .

Seán O’Casey találóan „az angol irodalom cirkuszi bolhájá”-nak nevezte . Ezt a lekicsinylő meghatározást Wodehouse megkedvelte, és egyik önéletrajzi jellegű kötetének ezt a címet adta. A The Times így írt róla: „tréfás zseni, akit az ő korában elismertek, mint a komédia klasszikus és vén mesterét”.

Manapság legismertebb a Jeeves-es és Blandings Kastély-os regényeiről és rövid történeteiről, de Wodehouse tehetséges drámaíró és dalszövegíró is volt, társszerzője és írója volt tizenöt darabnak és 250 dalszövegnek vagy harminc zenés vígjátékhoz. Együtt dolgozott Cole Porterrel az "Anything Goes" musicalen, és gyakran együttműködött Jerome Kernnel és Guy Boltonnal. Ő írta a dalszöveget a "Show Boat"-beli „Bill” című slágerhez. Társszerzője volt Molnár Ferencnek is, ő dolgozta át zenés színpadra a Játék a kastélyban című színművét, The Play’s the Thing címen. Egyik kritikusa, J. Agate így fogalmazott: „P.G. Wodehouse-t egy kicsivel Shakespeare alá sorolom, és tetszés szerinti távolságra mindenki más fölé.” Wikipedia
