“Do you have children? she asked.

Why?

The man answered that one had to have faith in the world to have children.”

“Why do people always expect authors to answer questions? I am an author because I want to ask questions. If I had answers, I'd be a politician.”

“Why won't anyone ever answer my questions?"
"Because you never stop asking them and especially because you keep asking them even when it's clear that nobody knows the answers."
"Well, how do I know that they don't know the answer unless I ask?”

“I do not think any man would ever treat a woman as his equal, and it is all I ask because I know my worth.”

“Although you hadn't asked why, it had less to do with you not noticing than with you not wanting to hear the answer.”

“A woman's job is to lead a man back to his heart and a man's job is to protect her so she can do that.”
