Xi Jinping citations

Xi Jinping est un homme d'État chinois né le 15 juin 1953 à Pékin, actuel président de la république populaire de Chine.

Fils d'un compagnon de Mao Zedong, Xi Zhongxun, il adhère au Parti communiste chinois dans les années 1970 et y exerce ses premières fonctions dans les années 1980, connaissant des responsabilités de plus en plus importantes jusqu'à arriver aux portes du pouvoir. Du 15 mars 2008 au 14 mars 2013, il est vice-président de la république populaire de Chine sous le second mandat de Hu Jintao, dont il apparaît comme le successeur désigné.

Il est secrétaire général du Parti communiste chinois et président de la Commission militaire centrale de la Chine depuis le 15 novembre 2012 ainsi que président de la république populaire de Chine depuis le 14 mars 2013. Il est réélu pour un nouveau mandat le 17 mars 2018.

Sa présidence, structurée autour du concept de « rêve chinois », se distingue par une présence accrue de la Chine sur la scène internationale, une politique écologique volontariste, une réhabilitation plus assumée qu'auparavant de la culture traditionnelle chinoise et un renforcement radical de l'emprise politique et idéologique du Parti communiste sur la société, qui passe entre autres par une lutte de grande ampleur contre la corruption chez les cadres communistes ainsi qu'au sein de l'armée.

En raison de sa pratique du pouvoir très personnalisée, rompant avec l'effacement relatif de ses prédécesseurs, de son exaltation du sentiment national chinois et de sa mainmise totale sur le Parti, Xi est souvent présenté comme le dirigeant le plus puissant et le plus autoritaire de Chine depuis Mao Zedong. À la suite d’une modification de la Constitution, il peut théoriquement rester président pour une durée illimitée, alors que ses prédécesseurs étaient limités à deux mandats depuis 1998. Par ailleurs, la « pensée » de Xi Jinping est inscrite dans la doctrine et la constitution du Parti communiste, un privilège jusqu'ici réservé à Mao et Deng Xiaoping. Wikipedia
