Reuven « Ruby » Rivlin, né le 9 septembre 1939 à Jérusalem, est un homme d'État israélien, membre du Likoud et président de l'État d'Israël depuis le 24 juillet 2014.

Avocat de formation, il entame sa carrière politique dans les années 1970, et est élu député à la Knesset pour la première fois en 1988, sous les couleurs du Likoud, parti nationaliste situé à la droite de l'échiquier politique israélien.

Ministre des Communications entre 2001 et 2003, il est élu, cette même année, président de la Knesset ; à ce poste, il est critiqué par l'opposition qui lui reproche d'avoir brisé la traditionnelle neutralité politique de la deuxième charge de l'État hébreu en assumant des positions controversées.

Candidat à l'élection présidentielle de 2007, il est devancé par Shimon Peres au premier tour et retire sa candidature. Deux ans plus tard, en 2009, il retrouve la présidence de la Knesset et redevient un personnage prépondérant de la scène politique israélienne.

En dépit de tensions avec le Premier ministre et chef du Likoud, Benyamin Netanyahou, il est en 2014 une nouvelle fois désigné candidat à la présidence de l'État d'Israël et est finalement élu.
