She is known for playing reporter Zoe Barnes in the Netflix political drama House of Cards , computer analyst Shari Rothenberg in the Fox thriller series 24 , and Ben Harmon's vengeful mistress Hayden McClaine in the FX miniseries American Horror Story: Murder House . In 2018 she starred in the first season of FX series, Pose.
She made her film debut in Random Hearts . She has since appeared in Brokeback Mountain , We Are Marshall , Shooter , Transsiberian , Stone of Destiny , The Open Road , Transcendence , The Martian , Fantastic Four , Morgan , Megan Leavey , and Chappaquiddick , portraying Mary Jo Kopechne.
