“I have a plan."
He groaned. "I was afraid of that."
"My plans areterrible."
"Isabelle's plans are terrible." He pointed a finger at her. "plans are suicidal. At best.”

“I did it because I love you!" he half-shouted, and then, as if registering the shocked look her face, he said in a more subdued voice, "I love you, Tessa, and I have loved you, almost since the moment I met you.”

“You told us to leave you in the desert, because you planned to start a new life as cactus," Catarina said, her voice flat. "Then you conjured up tiny needles and threw them at us. With pinpoint accuracy.”

“He caught her as if he were used to catching fainting girls, as if he did it everyday.”

“I swear on the Angel." He ducked his head down, kissed her cheek. "The hell with that. I swear on us.”

“I suppose you've always been amazing at this stuff?"
"I was born amazing" Jace stroked her cheek with the tips of his fingertips, lightly but enough to make her shiver.”

“I have not stopped loving her, nor my parabatai; love does not stop when someone dies.”

“Everything we need to know is locked up in your head, under those pretty red curls."
Clary reached up to touch her hair protectively. "I dont think-"
"So what are you going to do?" Simon asked sharply. "Cut her head open to get at it?”

“There was no Jace Wayland more real than the one he saw in her eyes when she looked at him.”

“But you love her.”
Will stared at him. “Of course I do,” he
said finally. “I had come to think I would
never love anyone, but I love her.”

“It didn’t matter, anyway. There was only one thing she could ask for, in the end, only one real choice.
She raised her eyes to the Angel’s.
"Jace," she said.”

“Will!" Charlotte threw up her hands. "Why didn't you say so?"
"You know, the books on demon pox are in the library," Will said with an injured tone. "I wasn't preventing anyone from reading them”

“The Queen touched her lips thoughtfully with a single long white finger. 'The Fair Folk, unlike humans, do not concern themselves overmuch with. Love, perhaps, and hate. Both are useful emotions. But…" She shrugged elegantly.”

“The only time people turned to watch her go by was when she hurtled past them as she fell.”

“Tessa was laying on her side, her brown hair spread over the pillow, watching Will, whose face was bent over the pages, with a look of tenderness in her eyes, a tenderness mirrored in the softness of Will's voice as he read.”

“Henry," said Charlotte, who appeared to have recovered from her shock, "if you set yourself on fire deliberately, I will institute divorce proceedings. Now sit down and eat your supper. And say hello to our guest.”

“Well, what? Sophie-"
"I hit her on the head with a mirror," Sophie said hopelessly. "One of those silver-backed ones, so it was quite heavy. She went down just like a stone, miss. So I… I tied her to the bed and I came looking for you.”

“I was even a little glad that if it wasn’t going to be me she wanted, it was going to be someone who really deserved her.”
