Regényei mellett cikkeket is ír a Wired Magazine számára, részmunkaidőben pedig az Amazon vezetője, Jeff Bezos által alapított Blue Origin nevű cég tanácsadójaként dolgozik. A Blue Origin célja egy szuborbitális kilövőrendszer kifejlesztése.
