Franz von Papen német katonatiszt, politikus, 1932-ben rövid ideig kancellár. Paul von Hindenburg köztársasági elnök legbelsőbb köréhez tartozott. Papennek nagy szerepe volt abban, hogy az akkor még kezelhetőnek hitt Nemzetiszocialista Német Munkáspártot beemelték a kormányba.
