Sufjan Stevens est un auteur-compositeur-interprète américain. Il est connu pour ses chansons qui portent autant attention aux textes qu'à l'instrumentation. Il joue de plusieurs instruments, avec une préférence pour le banjo. Il est aujourd'hui un des artistes américains les plus prolifiques et connaît un grand succès critique aux États-Unis. Il eut une hausse de sa réputation lors de la sortie du film Call Me by Your Name en février 2018, via la chanson "Mystery of Love" où il reçut la nomination au Academy Award en 2018 pour la meilleure chanson originale.
