Shulgi citations

Shulgi , roi de la IIIe dynastie d’Ur, fils d’Ur-Nammu, règne de 2094 à 2047 av. J.-C. sur le pays de Sumer.

Il se rapproche de la conception agadéenne de l’empire en adoptant le titre de « roi des quatre nations » et en accolant le signe divin à son nom. Il entreprend la réorganisation politique, militaire et administrative du royaume. La deuxième partie de son règne est occupée à une politique territoriale plus active, notamment vers l’Élam, le Zagros et le Kurdistan. Il meurt en -2047, soit assassiné, soit victime d’une épidémie. Amar-Sîn lui succède.
