Shaun Tan citations

Shaun Tan est un auteur de bande dessinée et illustrateur australien, né en 1974 à Fremantle. Il a obtenu le prix du meilleur album au Festival d'Angoulême 2008 pour Là où vont nos pères.

Son univers visuel, plus souvent appliqué à l'illustration qu'à la bande dessinée, fait la part belle à l'imaginaire et son apparition dans la société. L'ouvrage Contes de la banlieue lointaine en est un bon exemple qui touche directement le réalisme magique.

En 2011, lors de la 83e cérémonie des Oscars il reçoit avec Andrew Ruhemann l'Oscar du meilleur court-métrage d'animation pour The Lost Thing, film adapté de son ouvrage éponyme, publié en 1999. La même année, il reçoit le Prix commémoratif Astrid Lindgren.
