Michael Gerard Tyson dit Mike Tyson, né le 30 juin 1966 à New York dans le quartier de Brooklyn, est un ancien boxeur américain.

Durant sa carrière, Tyson a été champion du monde en catégorie poids lourds et reste le plus jeune boxeur de cette catégorie à avoir remporté un titre mondial, à 20 ans, 4 mois et 23 jours, contre Trevor Berbick.

Surnommé Kid Dynamite ou Iron Mike, Tyson remporte ses 19 premiers combats professionnels avant la limite, dont 12 dans la première reprise. Après avoir remporté le titre WBC en 1986, le titre WBA en mars 1987, en août de la même année, il remporte le titre IBF et devient champion du monde incontesté des poids lourds. Il conserve ces ceintures trois ans, avant de perdre son premier combat, ainsi que ses titres, en 1990, contre James Buster Douglas, pourtant donné sur le papier largement perdant.

En 1992, Tyson est condamné à une peine de six années de prison après avoir été jugé coupable de viol sur Desiree Washington. Bénéficiant d'une libération conditionnelle pour bonne conduite, Tyson sort de prison en 1995. Désormais converti à l'Islam, avec Malik Abdul Aziz comme nom musulman, Tyson reprend la boxe et remporte les titres de la WBA et de la WBC avant de perdre contre Evander Holyfield en 1996 par arrêt de l'arbitre à la 11e reprise. Le match revanche en 1997 est arrêté et Tyson disqualifié pour avoir mordu l'oreille d'Holyfield.

En 2002, à l'âge de 35 ans, il combat à nouveau pour le titre, mais perd par knockout face à Lennox Lewis. En août 2003, il se déclare en faillite, après avoir gagné près de 300 millions de dollars sur les rings au cours de sa carrière. Il se retire de la compétition en juin 2005, à 39 ans, après avoir essuyé deux défaites consécutives contre Danny Williams et Kevin McBride.
