Edward Vladimirovich Frenkel est un mathématicien américain. Ses domaines de prédilection en mathématiques sont le programme de Langlands, la théorie de la représentation, la géométrie algébrique et la physique mathématique. Il enseigne les mathématiques à Berkeley, à l'université de Californie et est membre de l'Académie américaine des arts et des sciences. En 2013, il est l'auteur d'un livre à succès mêlant des éléments autobiographiques à de la vulgarisation des mathématiques.
