Connue pour son style controversé et ses idées conservatrices, elle a été souvent décrite comme « la Michael Moore du Parti Républicain » ou « Rush Limbaugh en mini jupe ». Coulter s'est décrite comme un auteur polémique et engagé qui aime bien donner des coups de pied dans la fourmilière et ne prétendant pas être neutre ou impartiale.
