Robert Habeck is a German Green politician and writer currently serving as Vice Chancellor of Germany, Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, and Member of the German Bundestag. He co-led Alliance 90/The Greens from 2018 to 2022 and was part of the leading duo for the 2021 German federal election. Habeck has been active in politics since being voted into the state parliament of Schleswig-Holstein in 2009 where he later became group chairman. He has held various ministerial positions and achieved the direct mandate for his electoral-district Flensburg-Schleswig. Habeck is considered a political-realist within the Green Party.
Habeck's educational background includes completing his secondary-school examinations in 1989 and studying Philosophy, German, and Philology at Albert Ludwigs University. He also attended Roskilde University in Denmark and received a master's degree from the University of Hamburg in 1996.
