Syméon le Nouveau Théologien est un spirituel byzantin et un des trois saints à avoir reçu le titre de « théologien » dans l’Église orthodoxe. Il est fêté le 12 mars.
Il est révélé à l’Occident dans la collection « Sources chrétiennes » par le métropolite orthodoxe Basile Krivochéine et le père jésuite J. Paramelle.
