Romário citations

Romário de Souza Faria, surnommé Romário né le 29 janvier 1966 à Rio de Janeiro, dans la favela de Jacarezinho, est un homme politique brésilien et ancien footballeur. Il évoluait au poste d'attaquant de pointe.

Surnommé « o baixinho » , il est célèbre pour avoir remporté la Coupe du monde 1994, compétition dont il fut nommé Meilleur joueur. Il fut l'un des meilleurs joueurs de sa génération et l'un des buteurs les plus prolifiques de l'histoire du football.

Alors membre du Parti socialiste brésilien, il est élu député fédéral le 4 octobre 2010 puis sénateur fédéral le 5 octobre 2014. Il vote notamment en mai 2016 la destitution de la présidente Dilma Rousseff.

En juin 2017 il rejoint le parti Podemos dont il prend la présidence de l’État de Rio de Janeiro. Wikipedia
