Robert Fripp est un guitariste britannique né le 16 mai 1946 à Wimborne Minster. Il est principalement connu en tant que fondateur, en 1969, du groupe rock progressif King Crimson, dont il est le seul membre permanent. Il a également travaillé avec de nombreux autres artistes, parmi lesquels Van der Graaf Generator, Peter Hammill, David Bowie, Blondie, Andy Summers, Brian Eno, Peter Gabriel ou David Sylvian.
