Mikhail Bulgakov citations

Mikhaïl Afanassievitch Boulgakov , né le 3 mai 1891 à Kiev et mort le 10 mars 1940 à Moscou, est un écrivain et médecin russe puis soviétique.

Mikhaïl Boulgakov travaille d'abord comme médecin durant la Première Guerre mondiale, la Révolution russe et la guerre civile russe. À partir de 1920, il abandonne cette profession pour se consacrer au journalisme et à la littérature, où il est confronté, tout au long de sa carrière, aux difficultés de la censure soviétique.

Mort à seulement 48 ans, il a écrit pour le théâtre et l'opéra, mais il est surtout connu pour des œuvres de fiction comme les romans La Garde blanche, paru en 1925, et Le Roman de monsieur de Molière, achevé en 1933 , ou la nouvelle Cœur de chien achevée en 1925, mais publiée en URSS en 1987.

Son œuvre la plus connue est Le Maître et Marguerite, roman plusieurs fois réécrit et retravaillé entre 1928 et 1940, publié en URSS dans son intégralité pour la première fois en 1973, dans lequel il mêle habilement le fantastique et le réel, de telle sorte que le fantastique passe pour réel, et le réel pour fantastique, ainsi que les époques et les lieux, Jérusalem au Ier siècle, sous Ponce Pilate, et Moscou, dans les années 1930, sous la dictature stalinienne.
