Kōichi Tōhei , né en janvier 1920 à Shitaya au Japon et mort le 19 mai 2011, est un maître d'aïkido , probablement l'un des tous meilleurs techniciens au monde des techniques d'Aïkido, et le fondateur de la Ki no Kenkyukaï, « Société de recherches sur le Ki » et de son style le Shin Shin Toitsu Aikido . “We begin with the number one in counting all things. It is impossible that this one can ever be reduced to zero. Because just as something cannot be made of nothing, one cannot be made from zero. Ki is like the number one. Ki is formed from infinitely small particles, smaller than an atom.
