Dag Hammarskjöld , né le 29 juillet 1905 à Jönköping en Suède et mort dans un accident d'avion le 18 septembre 1961, en Rhodésie du Nord , est un diplomate suédois, qui fut secrétaire général des Nations unies de 1953 à 1961. L'année même de sa mort, survenue avant la fin de son mandat, le prix Nobel de la paix lui fut décerné à titre posthume.
