Clark Gable, né le 1er février 1901 à Cadiz et mort le 16 novembre 1960 à Los Angeles en Californie, est un acteur américain.

Plus grande star au box-office du début du cinéma parlant, au cours de sa longue carrière, il apparaît avec les plus grandes actrices de l’époque. Joan Crawford, qui était sa partenaire favorite, joue avec lui dans huit films, Myrna Loy est à ses côtés dans sept films et il forme un duo avec Jean Harlow dans six productions. Il est aussi la star de quatre films avec Lana Turner, et trois avec Norma Shearer.

Il remporte l’oscar du meilleur acteur en 1934 pour son interprétation dans le film New York-Miami. Suit une autre nomination pour son rôle de Fletcher Christian dans Les Révoltés du Bounty . Mais, il reste surtout célèbre pour avoir incarné le rôle de Rhett Butler dans le classique Autant en emporte le vent, sorti en 1939.

Il est un des rares acteurs à avoir joué dans trois films ayant obtenu un Oscar du meilleur film.
