Aleksandr Ovetchkine citations

Aleksandr Mikhaïlovitch Ovetchkine – en russe : Александр Михайлович Овечкин, et en anglais : Alexander Mikhaylovich Ovechkin, la forme la plus souvent utilisée – est un joueur professionnel russe de hockey sur glace.

Il fait ses débuts professionnels en 2001 au sein de son club formateur, le HK Dinamo Moscou, avec lequel il remporte le championnat 2004-2005 de Russie. Fils de Tatiana Ovetchkina, une ancienne joueuse professionnelle de basket-ball, double championne olympique et championne du monde, il joue avec l'équipe de Russie à partir de 2002 chez les moins de 18 ans. Ovetchkine remporte le championnat du monde junior 2003 puis les championnats du monde 2008, 2012 et 2014.

En 2005-2006, il rejoint les Capitals de Washington dans la Ligue nationale de hockey dont il est le premier choix au repêchage de 2004. Il remporte de nombreux trophées de la LNH au cours des saisons qui suivent : trophée Calder en 2006, trophée Lester B. Pearson en 2008, 2009 et 2010, trophée Art Ross en 2008, trophée Hart en 2008, 2009 et 2013, ainsi que le trophée Maurice Richard en 2008, 2009, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 et 2018. Sélectionné régulièrement dans les équipes types des saisons de la LNH, il est considéré comme l'un des meilleurs joueurs de la ligue. Il remporte la Coupe Stanley avec les Capitals en 2018.
